OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2014. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Martin Lidegaard, who is staying in Kiev for a visit.

During the meeting the parties discussed priority cooperation lines between the two Governments and particular measures Copenhagen takes to support Ukraine. One of such projects will become the foundation of the Ukrainian-Danish energy center, aimed at developing plans in improving energy efficiency in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that the Ukrainian Government appreciates setting up of the analytical centre on energy issues in Ukraine, "It is crucial for us, as Ukraine demonstrates one of the highest showings in the world in terms of energy consumption calculated per one dollar of GDP. We expect that our joint work will afford to significantly reduce energy consumption and increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy".

Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Martin Lidegaard also considered the enhanced cooperation in the framework of implementation by Ukraine of the Association Agreement with the European Union. The PM welcomed today’s signing of an agreement on visa simplification between the governments of the two states.

The Prime Minister reminded that the Government of Ukraine had adopted a number of decisions to accelerate the implementation of the action plan on simplification of a visa regime with the EU, "We hope that soon there will be a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU ".
