OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2014. Estonian Defense Ministry will allocate 275,000 euros in a measure aimed at promoting the development of the domestic defense industry in 2015.

The ministry expects to fund projects that align with the requirements of Estonian Defense Forces. Scope for the success on the international defense market would also be an advantage.

All defense-related development projects by Estonian registered companies can apply in the competition for development support, but only three projects will ultimately be funded.

Defense Ministry has previously stated that due to the small size of the Estonian domestic market, defense industry enterprises must be able to export. In addition, having experience in international product development and marketing will enable Estonian companies to offer better products to the Estonian Defense Forces, hence the defense industry development support is part of the Estonian security policies strategy.
