OREANDA-NEWS. JSC KamNIIKIGS (part of the state-run Rosgeologia holding company, Perm) has launched the evaluation of mineral water and medical mud deposits in the Perm Territory. The company's main interest is the explored but unused deposits that have potential of becoming Spa resorts.

"Our brief is to size up those deposits", says Sergei Belov, who is in charge of hydrogeology at KamNIIKIGS, "and decide if they are fit for use. A vast array of studies understandably will be carried out at them, ranging from geology and geo-ecology to geography and climate. After that, we will combine medical and balneotherapeutic findings to see how the medical properties of those natural deposits may contribute to expanding spar resort services in the Perm Territory."

A marketing research is also considered along with proposals to ramp up deposit development. This project is undertaken under a public contract in the framework of the "National Health System Development" state-run programme, the "Development of Medical Rehabilitation and Spa Treatment, Including for Children" subprogramme. The project was commissioned by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Forestry and Ecology of the Perm Territory.
