The six employees of MCCBTS, who would take part in China’s 31st Antarctic science investigation, arrived at the Polar Research Institute of China in Pudong New District, Shanghai, to have the final medical examination before their departure for the Antarctic pole from Shanghai on the 30th by the scientific research vessel “Snow Dragon”.
Namely one day before their departure, MCCBTS held a launching ceremony for these employees.
The main mission for the six scientific researchers going to the Antarctic Pole is to complete installation of the mechanical and electrical equipment for the Phase-II project of China’s Antarctic Kunlun Station. They will firstly arrived at the Zhongshan Station by Snow Dragon and are scheduled to the Phase-II project site by sleigh on December 18th before carrying out equipment installation and commissioning for 20 days. When the mission is accomplished, they will return to Shanghai from the Zhongshan Station by Snow Dragon. The whole journey will last for about five months.
