OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2014. The Chambers of Commerce and Industry from Moldova and Romania signed a cooperation agreement on bilateral trade exchanges and mutual investments. It was signed within a Moldovan-Romanian forum of business people, held in Bucharest, Romania, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (CCI) press service has reported.

CCI Head Valeriu Lazar said that Moldova’s civil, commercial, energy legislation had been already adjusted to the EU one, being created game rules known to the Romanian companies. At the same time, after entrance into force of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with EU, Moldova was set to transform the national economy, which creates new opportunities for European companies. “Only for infrastructure projects, such as road and energy, the volume of projects that are to be implemented in the next years exceeds 1 billion euros, and we need strong companies, such as those from Romania”, he said.

For his part, CCI Head from Romania Mihai Daraban noted that “the partnership policy is the most effective”, the companies being able to mutually promote trade deals and even common production within actions promoted by the two chambers.

Attending the forum were about 40 Moldovan companies, organized in three missions of the CCI and its partners – UNDP Programme “Supporting confidence building measures between the banks of the Dniestre” and DCFTA project – Informing and strengthening capacities of economic agents, funded by the Swedish government.

The Moldovan companies attended Indagra specialized agricultural exhibition in Bucharest, and visited more trade centres from Iasi, Bucharest and Brasov, and had a string of opportunities to negotiate delivery contracts for agricultural products in trade networks.
