OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2014. According to the latest information, the Russian Railways' network loaded 107.6 million tons in October 2014, 1.6% more than in October 2013.

Freight turnover in October 2014 increased by 2% compared to October 2013 to 195.4 billion tariff ton-kilometres. Freight turnover including empty wagon runs last month rose by 2% to 250 billion ton-km.

According to the latest information, loading in January-October 2014 amounted to 1.0208 billion tons, 0.9% less than during the same period in 2013.

During January-October 2014, the railways shipped the following goods. Figures in brackets show the percentage change compared to January-October 2013:
 
coal – 258 m tons (+1.5%);
coke – 9.8 m tons (+3.3%);
oil and oil products – 211.7 m tons (+2.7%);
iron and manganese ores – 90.5 m tons (-2%);
ferrous metals – 59.3 m tons (+1.6%);
ferrous metal scrap – 13.9 m tons (unchanged);
chemical and mineral fertilisers – 41.1 m tons (+6.6%);
cement – 28.5 m tons (-6.1%);
timber – 32.3 m tons (+7.7%);
grain and milled products – 14.1 m tons (+36.4%);
construction materials – 122.1 m tons (-17.5%);
non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock – 16.3 m tons (-6.4%);
chemicals and soda – 21.1 m tons (-2.8%);
industrial feedstock and molded materials – 30.1 m tons (+5.4%).
 
Freight turnover since the beginning of 2014 amounted to 1903.4 billion tariff ton-km (+ 5.3%) and 2448.3 billion ton-km taking into account empty wagon runs, (+ 5.8%).
