OREANDA-NEWS. Following the requirements of the international regulations starting from January 1, 2015 Belarusian gas-filling stations are shifting to selling diesel fuel of environmental class K5 only, which refers to the winter type, as well as to the summer one.

According to the ecologists, the main source of air pollution is transport, which is the source of 70% of gross emission. It stipulates use of environmentally-friendly type of motor fuel in cars.

Taking care of purity of environment Belarusian oil refiners (JSC Mozyr oil refinery and OJSC Naftan) today can offer to the motorists and transport enterprisers fuel of the advanced level of environmental quality. It is marked according to the European standard as Euro-5, and according to the classification applied within the territory of the Customs Union - as class K5.

At the present time technological equipment of oil refineries make it possible entirely supply the needs in K-5 class diesel fuel of Belarusian market.

As far as diesel fuel of environmental class K4 is concerned, technical regulation of the Customs Union allows its distribution in the territory of theRepublicofBelarustill December 31, 2014.

Reference: In comparison to lower K4 class in DF-K5 reguation parameters as per sulphur share have become more strict (the share is not to exceed 10 ppm -10 mg per 1 kg the most). This fuel absolutelly complies with the requirements of the European standard EN 590:2009 (Euro-5).

Shift to the diesel motor fuel of higher environmental quality has certain advantages for motorists.

Due to the application of low-sulfur fuel DF-K5 catalysts and exhaust system life enlarges, active life of a car engine increases significantly. Diesel fuel of class K-5 reduces acid sulfur corrosion. It affects the most boosted high-speed diesel motors mounted in the most of modern light automobiles.

Besides, in diesel fuel DF-K5 the share of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been significantly reduced, which increases its cetane number and, as consequence, favourably affects ignition characteristics, ensures smooth pressure boost, startability in cold period, as well as engine efficiency. The main thing is that using diesel fuel of higher environment class ensures reduction of atmospheric emissions of pollutant, which will foster environmental improvement in the country.

The following is also important for the consumers: the price of DF-K5 is planned to remain on the level of DF-К4.

Note, that considering the role of pure environment in human health, due to the oil refinery modernization performed in2013 inBelarus, practical shift has been performed to the supply of domestic market with high quality gasoline of environmental class K5 in which the share of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been reduced.
