Industrial Output Continues Rise in Estonia
OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2014. The production of industrial enterprises in Estonia rose 4 percent in September compared to the same period in 2013, Statistics Estonia reported. The production gains were in manufacturing, as mining and energy saw declines.
Since January, manufacturing has shown a steady growth compared to the same month in 2013. Manufacturing increased 5 percent, and in August it grew 6 percent, and in September it rose 7 percent.
Production exceeded the volume of September 2013 in most branches of industry. The growth in production was influenced the most by an increase in the manufacture of electronic products, where production rose about a quarter; 6 percent more wood and 9 percent more metal products were produced.
The volume of production fell in the manufacture of electrical equipment, chemicals and furniture.
In September, 71 percent of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market
September’s seasonally adjusted total industrial production increased 1 percent compared to August, including a 2-percent rise in manufacturing production.
