Boeing Names Johndroe to Government Operations Communications Post
OREANDA-NEWS. Boeing announced today that Gordon Johndroe will join the company to lead its Washington, D.C.-based Government Operations communications team, effective Nov. 7.
As vice president, Government Operations Communications, Johndroe, 40, will be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies associated with advocacy for the company's products and businesses, as well as issues management and outreach to the Washington, D.C. news media and related constituencies. He will report to Tom Downey, senior vice president, Communications, and Tim Keating, senior vice president, Government Operations.
Johndroe joins Boeing from Lockheed Martin, where he led worldwide corporate media relations. Prior to Lockheed, Johndroe was a vice president at APCO Worldwide in Washington, D.C. He also served as U.S. National Security Council spokesman and White House deputy press secretary during the George W. Bush administration. Earlier in his career, he served in communications roles of increasing responsibility in government, including within the U.S. State Department, Department of Homeland Security and the White House.
Johndroe will be based in the Boeing office in Arlington, Va.
