Novovoronezh NPP: India Is Ready to Develop Cooperation with NPP
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 27 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan visited Novovoronezh NPP.
India has already had positive experience in the cooperation with the Russian Federation which was got during construction of Kudankulam NPP, he said. In future we also plan to build new power units. Now we consider a possibility of organizing the cooperation in various areas with the region on the whole and Novovoronezh NPP in particular, the Ambassador said. On his part, Director of the representation office of Larsen & Toubro Limited in Russia Ajit Johori expressed hope that its company, which has experience in supplying equipment for nuclear power plants, would succeed in establishing a constructive cooperation with Russian NPPs.
The Ambassador was familiarized with Novovoronezh power units under construction in the framework of his tour of companies in Voronezh Region. Novovoronezh Plant Manager Vladimir Povarov told the guests about the plant development history and its future plans. The Indian delegation visited the viewing point of the construction site of Units 6 and 7. Victor Vagner, First Deputy Chief Engineer for new power units, informed about features of AES-2006 design. During the visit, the Ambassador and escorting persons had a look at the Training Center of Novovoronezh NPP, saw operation of full-scale simulators of the main control room and emergency shutdown panel. Sergey Lyashchenko, Deputy Head of TC for training of the plant's Phase IV personnel told the guests about training of the personnel of Novovoronezh Units 6 and 7 under construction.
