UTair Joins Association for Aircraft Anti-Icing Quality Control
OREANDA-NEWS. UTair has joined the Association for Aircraft Anti-Icing Quality Control in Russian Airports, an organization formed under the aegis of the Russian Association of Air Transport Operators. UTair Deputy General Director for Flight Safety and Quality Alexander Lushkin noted that UTair joined the association to contribute to the task of solving problems connected with anti-icing and is now sharing data on audit procedures carried out in the airports. Audits carried out by a member airline are recognized by other association members with no additional audit procedures required.
"UTair Aviation pays special attention to securing a high degree of flight safety and aircraft anti-icing protection is an important component of that," said Lushkin. In November 2013 representatives of aircraft manufacturers Airbus and ATR joined a workshop on anti-icing protection hosted and supported by UTair and organized as a part of joint International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) project. During the two day workshop participants shared experience on anti-icing protection of Airbus and ATR aircraft, discussed technologies and best practice for on-ground anti-icing protection, and action plans in the event of icing.
In 2013 UTair Aviation successfully passed the International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
The task of securing the highest degree of flight safety, including through cooperation with aviation authorities and companies on task of anti-icing, is a priority for UTair Aviation.
UTair Aviation ranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2013 UTair Aviation aircraft transported 9,625,295 passengers and the combined UTair Group fleet transported 10,413,803 passengers. UTair Aviation operates more than 150 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and abroad. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs more than 100 flights daily.
