OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2014. The first flights from the airport of Uralsk will start in the middle of next week. It was announced by First Deputy Minister of Investment and Development Zhenis Kassymbek during a briefing in the CCS.
We should remind you that that the airport has been under reconstruction for a long time.
He also said that reconstruction of Taldykorgan’s airport runway has been completed this year. "We are planning that reconstruction of Petropavlovsk airport runway will begin next year, further, reconstruction of the runways in Kostanay, Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Petropavlovsk must be completed until 2020. In general, reconstruction of all these airports and bringing them into compliance with the standards of the international organization ICAO is planned until 2020," he added.
A civil aviation training center will be created in Kazakhstan, and its curriculum was developed together with the Finnish side.
"In accordance with ICAO requirements, we do not have any educational institution certified by the standards of ICAO. Now we are together with the training center "Tian-shan" are working actively and expect the training center will receive a certificate before the end of the year. Moreover, there will be civil aviation training center. I can assure you that there will be two training centers in 2015 - training center "Tian-shan" and Civil Aviation Center," Mr. Kassymbek said.
He said that every year about 200 students in aviation specialties study abroad; in 2015 they will have an opportunity to do practical work at home.
"They are training in Lithuania, USA, Spain, Ireland, Finland and Belgium. The reason that students are trained in these countries is that to date there are no appropriate equipment, material and technical resources in Kazakhstan, and the country can not provide for summer practical work, which would give an opportunity for further work on the vessels of western production, " he added.
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Investment and Development expects to modernize 6 thousand kilometers of railway lines and reduce the wear of rails by 40%. "By 2020 we plan to modernize 6 thousand kilometers of railway lines. Though we have completed the task partially as in August we commissioned the railway lines "Zhezkazgan-Beineu" and "Arkalyk-Shubarkol' with the total length of 1,250 kilometers," Kassymbek said.
According to his words, this will create about 3.8 thousand new jobs.
