OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus plans to export USD 6 billion worth of foodstuffs and food products in 2014 and hopes to increase food export proceeds to USD 7-8 billion in the next few years.

Belarus' First Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko made a statement to this effect at the Belarus-Siberia business cooperation forum in Novosibirsk on October 22.

Food exports have become one of key sectors of Belarus' exports. Last year, Belarus' proceeds from food exports totalled USD 5.5 billion and are expected to grow to USD 6 billion in 2014, Semashko said. The goal is to make it USD 7-8 billion, he said.
