OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2014. By order of the Russian Border Services Agency dated 2.09.2014 No. 177-OD it is decided to reconstruct the marine cargo-passenger permanent multilateral checkpoint at the state border of the Russian Federation in Gelendzhik Seaport in order to enhance its flow capacity and change its boundaries.

At present the cargo pier at Cape Tonkiy assigned to FSUE “Rosmorport” on the right of economic management is located within the boundaries of the reconstructed checkpoint in Gelendzhik Seaport at the land plot with the area size of almost 1.5 hectares. According to the established procedure, the cargo pier has been let to a marine terminal operator for transshipment activities and passenger service.

Reconstruction of the checkpoint at Gelendzhik Seaport is connected to the project for the creation of coastal and marine infrastructure of Gelendzhik Seaport to be implemented in the framework of the federal target program “Development of the Transport System of Russia (2010-2020)”.

The investment project stipulates:

- reconstruction of cargo pier with the aim to increase the cargo transshipment volume up to 800 thous. tons per year and to increase the flow capacity of marine passenger vessels up to 19.6 thous. people per year;

- creation of a yacht marina (yacht mooring station) with arrangement of a yacht club and construction of appropriate coastal infrastructure;

- construction of a fuelling complex for bunkering of small-size vessels and yachts calling at Gelendzhik Seaport;

- construction of a hotel, shopping and entertainment mall with a concert hall, and an individual low-rise residential sector.

The main investors of the project are FSUE “Rosmorport”, JSC Gelendzhik Sea Trade Port and LLC Tuapsenefteprodukt.

As of 9 months 2014 the transshipment volume of export and import cargo in Gelendzhik Seaport, which are processed exclusively at the cargo pier of FSUE “Rosmorport”, is 128.6 thous. tons.
