OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2014. Kazakhstan has increased the volume of production in the automotive industry 10 times for 4 years. It was announced by Vice Minister of Investment and Development Albert Rau at a briefing in Central Communications Service.

He said that if earlier import of cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 100%, but now the situation has changed for the better.

"During the first 9 months, 122 thousand cars were purchased in Kazakhstan. Of those 78% are imports. Thus, from these imports more than 50% of Russian production," Vice Minister said.

National Managing Holding "Baiterek" will support the automotive industry in Kazakhstan. "According to financial aid - "Baiterek" is really connected. In particular, I have said today during the cabinet meeting that "Baiterek" financed working capital for "Toyota" producers. Because, imagine we carry accessories from Thailand," A. Rau said.

According to him, a set of financial instruments to support the automotive industry will be expanded, but today the companies in this industry do not have enough working capital.

The share of cars import amounted to 79.8% (97.4 thousand units) from the beginning of 2014, and the share of the domestic car assembly was 20.2% (24.7 thousand units) at the end of September. Russia occupies a leading position in the market of Kazakhstan, 67 thousand units were sold since the beginning of 2014, and the market share is 55.5%. The volume of motor production in Kazakhstan has increased by 10 times from 2010 to 2013 - from 15.8 to 156.6 billion tenge.
