KRET Develops Civilian Aircraft Defense during Missile Attack
OREANDA-NEWS. KRET companies are developing onboard defense systems for civilian aircraft during missile attack. The TASS News Agency received this information from the General Director of the Group, Nikolay Kolesov. The system will be capable of detecting a missile, determining the degree of threat, activating electronic interference and preventing the missile from hitting the target.
"Today, the need for such systems is real, and we are working on some projects related to the matter," said Nikolay Kolesov. "These days, many civilian aircraft are initially designed to have defense systems on board. This is the future." According to him, today, many airlines of the world install defense avionics on civilian aircraft.
As added by Nikolay Kolesov, KRET is already now offering the onboard defense system "President-S"[1].
The equipment of the "President-S", which is structurally represented by individual units, can be installed inside the fuselage of the aircraft or helicopter or on the external attachment lugs.
"President-S" consists of an active radar interference station (ARIS), which inhibits radar detection and control of the enemy, as well as guided missiles with radar homing heads.
The systems can independently detect a missile, determine the degree of threat and activate passive and active electronic interference. Missile guidance system sees the decoys and misses the target.
The system widely utilizes methods of digital processing of radar signals and repeater jamming. Thus, the station is capable of protecting the aircraft in a complex radar environment with simultaneous threats from multiple control radar systems.
To date, the Screen SRI, which is a part of KRET, is the leading company in terms of designing multifunctional integrated onboard defense systems for protection of aircraft from controlled missiles.
