OREANDA-NEWS.  October 29, 2014. This was stated in the published report of the Directorate General EuropeAid European neighborhood instrument 2007-2013 summary of activities and results. As it is noted, in recent years, the EU has supported a major program of reforms in Moldova to strengthen democracy, the rule of law and respect for human right contributed to the promotion of economic reforms and better living conditions for citizens.

The main emphasis by the European Union for Moldova was made on the reform of the justice system, improving the business climate, energy, economic development of rural areas. In the recent years, there was increased cooperation in the field of border management and migration, which led to the liberalization of the visa regime. Separate funds were provided for the implementation of measures to strengthen confidence in Transnistria. Special attention was paid to the combating corruption.

According to the report, in particular, within the framework of the National indicative program 2007-2010, Moldova has received from the EU financial assistance in the amount of 225,3 million euros, which were aimed at supporting democratic development and good governance; regulatory reform and strengthening administrative capacity; reducing poverty and promoting economic growth. At the same time, within the framework of the National indicative program in 2011-2013 financial assistance of the EU to Moldova amounted to 272,6 million euros.

These funds were allocated to ensure effective governance, rule of law and fundamental freedoms; social and human development; trade and sustainable development. The Program EaPIC (Eastern partnership integration and cooperation) of Moldova has received from EU financial support in the amount of 63 million euros.
