OREANDA-NEWS. In October, Corum has shipped the second KPD roadheader to the biggest Polish producer and exporter Węglowa S.A (KW SA) supplying coal to more than 60 countries worldwide.

"We are actively developing the new markets of the neighbouring countries and beyond. Thanks to our efforts a sales office set up in Poland less than a year ago has delivered the second roadheader. This is the best result of an international producer in the country's market. Moreover, we are going to ship one more equipment unit to our client Węglowa S.A before the year ends," said the Director of Underground Excavation Division Ildar Saleyev.

We remind that Corum made a special presentation of the first KPD roadheader to the Polish market in late September in Katowice. Today the largest European coal company Jastrzębska Spуłka Węglowa S.A. (JSW SA) can benefit from the advantages of the top-performing roadheader.

Coal production in Poland is different because of higher average production and the face advance rate, which steps up demands to roadheaders. The KPD roadheader is a flagship of Corum's mining machines, having proved its reliability and high performance in many countries of the world.

KPD roadheader is designed to break up rock with strength of 100 MPa, load and ship the broken rock in development workings of various drift size from 11 to 30 sq m.

KPD roadheader compares favourably with the previous models as it has an innovative design of conveyor turning section, reinforced steelworks of the key units, extended life of the speed reducer and other improvements.
