The system is intended to warn JSC PIMCU employees and Krasnokamensk residents in case of emergencies at hazardous production facilities, such as a sulfuric acid workshop and a storage facility for acids. "The system has been designed and installed instead of the previous one, which became obsolete and worn out. Its advantage is that it is fully automated - alert is switched on in case of emergency irrespective of the human factor," says Dmitriy Bryukhov, chief specialist of the IT and APCS Department, JSC PIMCU.

Special sensors have been installed at hazardous production facilities to control emissions of harmful substances and other human impacts. In case of emergency, a signal will be immediately broadcasted at the facility and in the city. This will be not just a standard warning horn, but also a pre-recorded voice massage with appropriate precautions.

ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation gives special priority to safety of personnel at production facilities, as well as residents of cities, where its enterprises are based. In 2014 alone, systems for underground mining communication and personnel and equipment positioning have been put into service at JSC PIMCU. These systems make it possible to ensure general safety of mining operations, prevent emergencies and promptly identify location of people if an accident occurs.
