OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2014. Annual senior executives meeting of Norilsk Nickel security service was held in Rosa Khutor Sochi Olympic Complex. The event intended to outline specific security objectives and help develop optimal solutions to such challenges taking into account provisions of the new corporate strategy.

The list of speakers included Norilsk Nickel’s first deputy General Director – Executive Director, Pavel Fedorov and Head of Security Block – Head of Corporate Security Directorate, Vladislav Gasumyanov.

Representatives of Krasnodar Krai and Sochi administration and senior officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Security Service, Federal Drug Control Service and Federal Customs Service have all participated the meeting. As in previous years, senior security service members of Norilsk Nickel’s main shareholders, Interros and UC RUSAL, also took part in the event and for first time the meeting was attended by leading experts from Moscow State University and other major institutes, who focused on issues concerning implementation of new scientific and methodological guidelines. Event participants also discussed transport and energy security, counter-terrorism activities, illicit precious metals trafficking and cooperation with law-enforcement authorities.

In his speech Vladislav Gasumyanov noted that “Security Block’s objectives are now determined by the new strategy, new challenges and shifting structure of both internal and external threats facing the company. In this situation it is especially important that we re-evaluate our aims and methods to ensure progression towards a more flexible, mobile and efficient security framework”.

Security block still prioritizes further development of measures aimed to protect Company’s interests while accounting for the policies of Russian Government.
