OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2014. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has participated in the 5th session of the Kazakh-Japanese intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

In his speech, Mr. Massimov noted that an Agreement on mutual protection of investments will be signed as a result of 10 years of negotiations between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Japan.

"This is an important event for both countries. This agreement will give Japanese companies security guarantees of the investments in our country," Karim Massimov said.

In addition, the head of the Government said that this year Kazakhstan has adopted the Law providing additional opportunities for foreign investors, including tax incentives.

"Our economies complement each other. Japan has the highest technology; Kazakhstan has natural resources and hardworking people. I think we have a great foundation for development of relations," the head of the Government said.

K.Massimov focused on automotive industry, nuclear industry, agriculture and the space industry among the promising areas of cooperation.

Intergovernmental commission’s work was attended by business delegation from Japan, including representatives of large companies "MitsubishiCorporation", "ToshibaCorporation", "ToyotaTsushoCorporation", "TheJapanAtomicCompany", "Marubeni Corporation" and others.
