OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2014. IBA Group participated in the annual Gulf IT and Electronics Exhibition (GITEX) Technology Week organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The largest Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) event in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA), the exhibition and conference hosted more than 3,700 exhibiting companies from 61 countries and gathered in attendance 100,000 visitors from 150 countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, conducted the official opening ceremony of GITEX 2014.

DWTC reported that according to the IDC predictions, “the region's ICT market is set to jump from a projected US\\$15 billion in 2014 to US\\$20 billion in 2020, boosted by infrastructure spending” in the government sector. The Dubai government intends to transform the city into a `Smart City' by harnessing high technologies to create better living conditions for people in Dubai and the UAE.

The GITEX Technology Week served as a platform of knowledge exchange and sharing of achievements between the world's ICT leaders and local organizations. This year's tradeshow embraced the following four topics: Smart, Cloud, Big Data, and Mobility. To this end, IBA Group showcased its mobile applications and big data services in addition to business analytics, business process management, SAP, and other services and solutions. The IBA Group's delegation welcomed more than 170 visitors at its booth.
