OREANDA-NEWS. The Novovoronezh NPP-2 (customer - the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", general designer and general contractor - the JSC "AEP") set vent pipe to a regular place at the first power unit, which is under construction.

It is designed to clean air ventilation space of the reactor compartment and special building in the atmosphere. The height of the steel structure is 99.5 m, diameter is 3 m.

Before this the vent pipe had been mounted on the ground, and then had been assembled using a crane "Demag" and had been installed in the design position. It made possible to reduce the duration of the assembly operations.

Since June 2007, the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" as the owner-developer has been doing the construction of the new generation two power units at the Novovoronezh NPP-2 beyond the project "NPP-2006". Construction is being done in accordance with the program of activities of the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom". It was approved by the RF Government Decree №705 20 September 2008. Construction is funded by property contribution and equity of the Rosenergoatom. WWER-1200 reactor unit is applied at the new nuclear power plant. The new project complies with all local and international safety requirements. Its main distinguishing feature is to improve the security system, which provides a significant advantage on the characteristics of the project-level security. The general contractor for construction of the new power units is the JSC "AEP", chief designer of the reactor plant is the JSC "OKB Hydraulic".
