OREANDA-NEWS. Corum's Underground Excavation Division has produced and shipped an upgraded shearer UKD200-500 to its key client DTEK to produce coal in Ternovskaya Mine, a part of DTEK Pavlogradugol.

UKD200-500 shearer is an upgraded model of UKD200-400 equipped with symmetrical replaceable blades. This is the second coal-cutter of the model upgraded after production tests of the first pilot. The improved blades, hydraulic and electrical equipment make the shearer more efficient and reliable for use.

"The first pilot model UKD200-500 has already produced over 900,000 tonnes of coal at Pavlogradskaya Mine. We are using our expertise to modernise the coal-cutter and going to launch it again in December," said the Director of Underground Excavation Division Ildar Saleyev.

UKD200-500 shearer is a transitional model of Corum's shearers designed for extracting low coal and equipped with a remote feed system. The company is going to launch a new product line of coal-cutters with incorporated chainless haulage.

Today Corum offers UKD200-500 shearer instead of UKD200-250 and UKD200-400 models as well as overhauls and provides spare parts for all shearers used in mining business.
