OREANDA-NEWS. A conference titled "Corporate Social Responsibility of OAO LUKOIL in the Northwestern Federal District" was held today at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive branches of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as by those of public organizations and supervision agencies. Those present highly commended the role played by the company in the socially important cultural, educational, healthcare and sports projects implemented at the regional level.

"There are a lot of LUKOIL Group organizations in the Northwestern Federal District. It is obvious that their activities contribute to the economic development and strengthening of the fuel-and-energy complex of both our region and Russia as a whole," Vladimir Katenev, President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said.

The conference is the first in a series of similar events to be held in the federal districts covered by the company's production activities. They are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014 and for 2015.
