OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2014. Opening ceremony of the Center for Physical Culture and Sports "Zhemchuzhina Yugri" took place in Nefteyugansk; the Center is now the largest and most modern sports complex in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District of Yugra.

Rosneft transferred most of the payments for construction on the co-financing terms in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement with the Government of the District providing for, in particular, participation in the social development of the region.

The opening of the center was attended by representatives of RN-Yuganskneftegaz, which oversaw the construction, and the management of administration of KhMAD-Yugra and Nefteyugansk.

The total area of commissioned sports facility is nearly 27 thousand sqm. The Center includes a water park and two pools, one of which meets Olympic standards; 50x25 m in size, equipped with a diving tower and springboard. Special equipment allows even young swimmers and disabled people to visit the facility. "Zhemchuzhina Yugri" also has a sports hall for team sports for 300 seats, a gym, a wellness center and two cinemas.

Technical equipment of the Center of Physical Culture and Sports meets the latest requirements, which makes it possible to hold various events on both city and regional levels.

Pools are suitable for swimming, water polo, diving from three- and five-meter springboards. The new center offers great opportunities for development of water sports in the entire region of development, formation of KhMAD-Yugra team reserve, as well as organization of cultural activities for citizens.
