OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. in the first half of fiscal 2014 (April - September 2014) totaled about 7,095.138 million m3, up 524.301 million m3 (+8.0 %) from the same period in fiscal 2013.

Of this total, the residential sector accounted for 1,243.066 million m3, up by 2.8% from the first half of fiscal 2013. The increase was due to the increase of number of customers.

Sales in the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use) amounted to 1,248.809 million m3, down by 3.9%, due to the temperature effect, leading to the decreased demand of air conditioning.

In the industrial sector, the volume totaled about 3,539.109 million m3, 16.9% up from the first half of fiscal 2013, due to the increased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 1,064.155 million m3, up 3.0% from the first half of fiscal 2013.
