OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2014. There are more than 664,680 pensioners in Moldova, the National Social Insurance Fund reports. Over 500,410 of them are retirees whose pensions average MDL 1,116. The disability pension makes up MDL 876 and is paid to over 133.77 beneficiaries; the survivor pension is MDL 556 and received by more than 15,450 people.

The long-service pension averages MDL 624 and is paid to 115 pensioners. 630 ex servants of civil aviation agencies are paid MDL 5,771 each; Chernobyl accident rescuers receive the pension of MDL 2,361 (over 1,960 people).

The pensions to fixed-term servicemen and their family members (914 people) average MDL 964 each; pensions to some culture workers (24) average MDL 1,078; over 8,260 pensioners included into other groups are paid MDL 3,060 each.

The minimal retirement pension is MDL 710 for agricultural workers and MDL 798 for other retirees; the minimal disability pension amounts to MDL 657 for Group I, MDL 548 for Group II and MDL 368 for Group III.
