China Provides Moldova USD10 mn for Expansion of Road Surveillance
OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2014. As the head of the Center for monitoring and controlling traffic Services information technology the Ministry of internal Affairs Dan Chirita informed during the press conference the preliminary agreement on the grant between the government of Moldova and China has already been reached.
Currently the project documentation for signing of Memorandum is being prepared. It is expected that the grant will be allocated in spring of 2015; these tools will be installed surveillance cameras at 50 intersections in Chisinau, as well as on the national highways. As it was previously informed, the current surveillance system for traffic and public order in Moldova with a total cost of USD4.5 million implemented with financial and technological assistance to China.
In this project, video cameras will be installed in more than 40 intersections of Chisinau, as well as at several sites on the national road, the most dangerous from the point of view of the road safety.
