OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2014. Upon invitation by the People’s Government of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), a delegation of MCC Group took part in the 1st Tibet International Tourism & Culture Expo.

The delegation was headed by Guo Wenqing, Chairman of MCC Group & MCC. During the stay in Tibet, Guo Wenqing paid visits to the leaders of TAR, for instance, Secretary Chen Quanguo of CPC TAR Committee, and Chairman Losang Jamcan of TAR. In addition, strategic cooperation framework agreements were respectively signed between MCC Group and the People’s Government of TAR, MCC Huaye Group and Tibet Guosheng State-owned Assets Holding Co., Ltd., as well as MCC Huaye Group and Tibet Mineral Development Company.

In order to carry out the spirit of the 5th Tibet Work Seminar of the Central Government and accelerate the leap-forward development of social and economy in Tibet, MCC Group and the People’s Government of TAR inked the strategic cooperation framework agreement in Lhasa on September 25, 2014. According to this agreement, both parties will conduct overall collaboration and open a brand new chapter for strategic cooperation in the fields of mining resource development, construction of expressway and municipal infrastructure, industrial park and ecological protection. Guo Wenqing, Chairman & President of MCC Group and Chairman & Party Secretary of MCC, and Vice Chairman Jiang Jie of TAR signed the framework agreement respectively on behalf of each party.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Guo Wenqing held a discussion with Jiang Jie. In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, they reviewed the friendship established by the both parties, discussed the promising prospect of mutual collaboration, and exchanged view on a in-depth basis on the ways of further strengthening the cooperation in the future.

Guo Weiqing expressed gratitude to Vice Chairman Jiang Jie and the other friends in Tibet for their hospitality, as well as to the Party Committee and the Government of TAR for the long-lasting essential support extended to MCC Group. Then he made a briefing on the history and development situation of MCC Group. According to Guo, Tibet accounts for one eighth of the whole country’s land area; among the mining resource reserves, 12 kinds of mining resources rank among Top 5 in the whole country; the petroleum resource is endowed with perfect minerogenetic conditions and prospective capacity; Tibet is a province endowed with the best quality air, charming scenery, blue water and sky.

MCC Group attaches great importance to the collaboration with TAR, and highly cherishes the profound friendship established during the cooperation. Quite a few subsidiaries of MCC Group are undertaking business in TAR. Recently MCC Group entered into agreements respectively with Tibet Mineral Development Company and Tibet Guosheng State-owned Assets Holding Co., Ltd. on the Luobusha Chromic Iron-ore Project and Gaozheng Real Estate Project, with a promising prospect. Basing upon the existing perfect cooperative foundation, we shall make full play of the various advantages and the leading positions in terms of fund, technology, management, resource development and EPC contracting of engineering, as well as the outstanding influence and driving force of the central enterprise, actively participate in the mining resources development, construction of expressway and municipal infrastructure, industrial park, ecological protection, sewage treatment and waste incineration. On this ground, MCC Group will make further expansion on cooperative space with TAR, intensify efforts for development of Tibet, promote the economic growth of TAR, and make remarkable achievements in implementation of the spirit of the 5th Tibet Work Seminar of the Central Government.

Guo pointed out that, TAR and MCC Group enjoys huge potential on strategic collaboration and a lot of cooperative opportunities, thus the agreement signing ceremony will open a brand new and marvelous chapter in the history of mutual cooperation. By means of joint efforts, Tibet will witness a more promising tomorrow and fruitful achievements derived from mutual cooperation.
Jiang Jie extended warm welcome to Guo Wenqing and his delegation members, expressed gratitude to the aids and contribution made by MCC Group for the economic and social development in Tibet, and made a briefing on the development situation of TAR.

He mentioned that, thanks to the correct leading of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the active assistance offered by the other provinces and cities, as well as the essential support extended by MCC Group and the other central enterprises, TAR has achieved rapid growth in economy and social development, the various economic indicators are being increased by a double-digit growth ratio. As a matter of fact, the growing rate of GDP ranks the third place in the whole country, the growing rate of per capita income of the farmers and herdsmen ranks top in the whole country. In addition, TAR is recognized by its perfect performance in terms of social comprehensive management level, ethnic unity and religious affairs.

On the other hand, however, TAR is lagged behind in the average national level in infrastructure and highway construction. Jiang expected that, as one of the central enterprises, MCC Group could fully utilize its technical, talent and management advantages, seize the important opportunities of the rapid development of TAR in the coming decade, actively take part in the development works in the fields of construction of municipal infrastructure, highway and the other transportation facilities, real estate, sewage treatment and waste incineration, so as to make further contribution to the development of Tibet. For this purpose, the Party Committee and the Government of TAR will provide great support as always to MCC Group.
