As a key part for fulfilling the goal of constructing the Maritime Silk Road, Piraeus Port needs more efficient and stable rail service connecting East Europe and Central Europe after shipping cargos are discharged from PCT invested by COSCO. Trainose, a state-owned rail company of Greece is the unique rail service provider domestically, operating about 300 routes for both passengers and cargos. Trainose is committed to establish cooperative partnership with COSCO, offering full supports to COSCO’s sea-rail intermodal services and the construction of southern channel to PCT.

To date, more and more key clients have interests in the sea-rail intermodal service after quite a few multi-national enterprises entered the Central Europe market via PCT.

The MOU between COSCO and Trainose could well facilitate the high-efficient railway from PCT to Central Europe, so as to lower the logistics costs and better the comprehensive service solution.

During President Li’s stay in Greece, he also met with Chairman of Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and the government officials including national Maritime Minister, Development Minister and Labor Minister.
