OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2014. According to NBS, Moldova’s exports to the EU amounted to USD 810.6 million, up 15.8% as compared with the same period of 2013. Moldova's imports from the EU increased 8% to USD1 billion 687 million.

The share of the EU grew from 45.3% to 52.2% in Moldova’s exports and from 44.5% to 49.5% in Moldova’s imports. In January-August, 2014, Romania was the greatest exporter of Moldova’s goods, which amounted to USD 275.1 million, up 2.6% versus the same period of 2013. Then followed: Italy - USD 172.6 million (+54.1%); Germany - USD 92 million (+41.5%); Great Britain- USD 66.3 million (-1.7%); Poland - USD 41.2 million (-22.4%); Bulgaria - USD 26.8 million (+33.3%); France - USD 22 million (+25.6%); Greece - USD 20.1 million (+11.6%), the Czech Republic - USD 17.8 million (+0.9%), the Netherlands - USD 12.9 million (+44.2%).

Romania was also the greatest importer to Moldova, the imports making USD 519.1.1million (+18.2%). Then followed Germany - USD 286.1 million (+12.5%); Italy - USD 236.1 million (+9.3%); Poland- USD 98.5 million (+11.8%); Austria- USD 78.3 million (-7%); France - USD 62.8 million (-9.3%); Hungary - USD 60 million (-9.9%); Bulgaria - USD 48.6 million (-18.4%), Great Britain - USD 46.1 million (+14.2%), and the Czech Republic - USD 43.1 million (+1.2%).
