Industrial Output Increases by 4,3% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2014. As it was informed at the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time in August 2014 the industrial output increased compared to August of the last year by 3.9%. In January-August 2014 the volume of production in the mining industry grew by 2.9% and in manufacturing - by 6.1%, respectively.
According to NBS, the companies for the production of food and beverages for 8 months of 2014 increased production by 13.7%. In particular, the production of vegetable and animal oils and fats was increased by 3.4 times. Production, processing and preserving of meat and meat products increased by 24.5%. Soft drinks, soft drinks, and mineral water increased by 9.5%. Growth in processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and mollusks made up 8.6%. Dairy production increased by 7.6%, cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery products - by 6.4%. In the field of processing and canning of fruits and vegetables was registered growth of 5.4%.
At the same time, the production of alcoholic beverages reduced by 29.9%, wine - by 26.8%, grain mill products, starches and starch products - by 12%, macaroni, noodles and flour products - by 5.8 %, bread, cakes and pastry products - by 1.5%. According to the NBS, in January-August 2014 wood processing and the production of products of wood and cork, except for furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and other vegetable plaiting materials increased by 35.6%, chemicals and chemical products - 34.7%, textile products - 25% of computer, electronic and optical products - by 16.5%, clothing - 16.4%.
In the steel industry growth made 12.3%, manufacture of machinery and equipment increased by 9.4%, paper and cardboard - by 9.2%, furniture - 7.6%, footwear - 0.6%. At the same time, for 8 months of 2014 tobacco production fell by 39.8%, pharmaceutical products - by 16%, electrical systems - by 15.3%. Manufacture of metal products, except machinery, equipment and facilities decreased by 5.3%, rubber and plastic products - by 0.8%. Tanning and dressing of leather; manufacture of luggage, handbags, dressing and dyeing of fur decreased by 0.3%. In the energy sector was registered a decline in production by 3.2%.
In particular, the supply of steam and hot water decreased by 8.4%, the production and distribution of electricity - by 1.6%. Data on the development regions indicate that industrial production in Chisinau for 8 months of 2014 decreased by 2.2%, in the Northern regions - has increased by 35%, in the Central region - has increased by 10.8%, in the Southern regions - decreased by 16.5%, and in Gagauzia - decreased by 3%.
