OREANDA-NEWS.  October 17, 2014. A regional information centre for the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway line opened at Vladimir railway station. The opening ceremony was attended by Alexander Misharin, First Vice-President of Russian Railways, and Alexei Konishev, First Deputy Governor of Vladimir region.

In his speech, Alexander Misharin expressed his confidence that the construction of the high-speed line would proceed faster if every resident of the region understood the benefits of this new mode of transport and the economic advantages arising from the implementation of major infrastructure projects.

The construction of high-speed railway lines would create new opportunities for economic development in the region, said Alexei Konishev in his address.

The regional information center in Vladimir will be the central platform for communicating and interacting with the public on all aspects of the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway project.

It is the first such centre not only in Russia, but in the world. It contains a themed children's room, an informational exhibition and touch screens. Knowledgeable consultants are on hand who are able to explain the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway project.

The centre's task is to inform the region's population about the new project, its features, track and advantages. When construction begins, it will also provide regular and timely information to people about the construction progress on the new line. The centre's creation was based on the international experience of similar centres.

The first regional information centre about the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway line was opened in Nizhny Novgorod on 10 September 2014 and has become a regular attraction for the station's passengers and the city's residents. In the first three weeks after the centre opened, it was visited by more than 4,000 people. Proposals received at the centre will be taken into account when deciding on the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway project.
