OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2014. The first Formula-1 Grand Prix in the Russian history was held on the race circuit built with the use of Alfabit polymer modified asphalt binder (PMB) produced by Rosneft.

Three practices, a qualifying session and a race took place at the Sochi Autodom circuit during a three-day period. The unique technology of Alfabit PMB manufacturing was developed by Rosneft and specifically adapted to meet the high requirements of the race circuit designer.

During the race at Sochi Autodrom, the top speeds exceeded 300 kilometers per hour. Thanks to the high quality of the used materials, primarily Alfabit PMB, the track withstood the high loads characteristic of such high speeds and proved to have met the international standards.

Alfabit PMB is used in various sectors of road construction especially where road surface sustains serious loads. The facilities of this kind include the Smolensk Ring (FIA Category II track) and Moscow Raceway (FIA Category I track) race tracks. Alfabit PMB is also used for the construction of high traffic motor roads in the largest Russian cities and federal Russian motorways.
