OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2014. A group of Moldovan business people participate in the Buyers’ Mission Programme in Bursa city, Turkey, within the BURTARIM 2014 Agriculture, Seed Raising, Saplings and Dairy Industry Fair.

The business visit is organised by the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), in cooperation with the Office of Trade Advisor at the Turkish embassy in Moldova and Turkish Economics Ministry, meant to contribute to enhance the bilateral economic ties.

"At the event, the economic agents will have possibility to establish cooperation relations with qualitative goods producers from Turkey and other countries, to sign delivery agreements, as more than 500 companies from over 20 countries presented their goods at the BURTARIM fair. Agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, fertilisers, technologies for cultivating, harvesting, transport, storage and processing fruits and vegetables, technologies in the animal husbandry sector, etc. are exhibited there. The fair’s last issue was visited by more than 252,000 people from 40 states," the head of the CCI International Relations Department, Mihai Bilba, said.

Data by the National Statistics Bureau shows that the quota of exports (without taking into account the trade activity of Transnistrian entrepreneurs) of Moldova to Turkey stood at 244.3 million dollars in January-July 2014 and dropped by 23.9 per cent against the same period of 2013.

In the first seven months of 2014, the goods export amounted 70.4 million dollars, decreasing by 26.8 per cent against January-July 2013. The import of products from Turkey to Moldova was estimated at 173.9 million dollars in the same period and diminished by 22.4 per cent compared to the same period of 2013.
