Moldovan PM Meets German, French Envoys
OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2014. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today had a meeting with ambassadors of Germany and France to Moldova, Ulrike Knotz and Pascal Vagogne. Leanca approached the Moldovan-German agenda and respectively, the Moldovan-French one, as well as Moldova’s European integration and boosting trade exchanges with the two states, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Leanca noted that the Moldovan-German relations had developed during the last years. “I am happy Moldova is no more “terra incognita” for German officials. The bilateral relation is on the rise. We rely on drawing German investments in the national economy”.
The German diplomat said his appointment as German Ambassador to Moldova was a privilege, taking into account boosting the ties between the two countries.
The Moldovan-French relations represented the main issue of the discussion between the premier and French ambassador. Leanca stressed he relied on personal experience of his Excellency in rapprochement with the two countries, as well as building Francophone spirit in Moldova.
For his part, the French ambassador noted that his country was interested in deepening the Moldovan-French ties and backing Moldova’s European integration.
The premier wished them every success in accomplishing missions in Moldova.
Ulrike Knotz started his mission as German ambassador to Moldova on 20 August. Pascal Vagogne presented the accreditation letters of French ambassador to President Nicolae Timofti on 17 September.
