OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2014. At today's plenary session the Senate has adopted the Law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on transferring functions of veterinary-sanitary inspection and control, carried out at automobile checkpoints across the border of the Customs Union, to customs services".

According to the Minister of Finance Bakhyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan customs service will carry out veterinary and phytosanitary border control at automobile checkpoints across the border of the Customs Union. The bill aims at the development of border crossing points and transport-logistics centers.

Minister stressed that at present there are 4 types of state control including border, customs, veterinary and phytosanitary, carried out at border crossing points of our country. Sultanov noted that the adoption of the amendments will reduce transit time of goods across the border and optimize veterinary and phytosanitary control.
