OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2014. Stat-secretary, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Andrey Tsarikovsky, talked about it at the session on “Economic Analysis in Antimonopoly Cases” as part of the VI Annual Conference on Antimonopoly Regulation in Russia.

Experts discussed economic analysis tools in antimonopoly cases: common problems and issues, its role in investigating cases on horizontal agreements, methods of increasing the standards of proof at Courts and the best world practices.

“Economic analysis in antimonopoly cases becomes increasingly more important so the topic of the discussion is exceptionally important”, emphasized Deputy Head of FAS.

Lawyers discussed analysis of No.220 FAS Order “On Approving the Procedures for Analyzing the State of Competition on the Market” and pointed out the importance of actualizing it. Andrey Tsarikovsky added that “FAS is finalizing amendments to No.220 Order taking into account the opinion of business community”.

Representatives of legal community arrived to the common opinion that it is exceptionally important to carry out economic analysis together with the Antimonopoly Service.

Summing up the session, Deputy Head of FAS proposed to the experts present at the session to together organize a workshop in FAS on the issues of economics and antimonopoly regulation.
