KAMAZ Plans to Sell More than 5,500 Trucks under Scrappage Scheme
OREANDA-NEWS. Since the scrappage scheme was introduced by Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, several thousand people wishing to buy a vehicle have turned to KAMAZ and its dealerships. One of Moscow dealers have already ordered 670 KAMAZ trucks under the scrappage program. In total, orders for more than 5,000 trucks were received by the company.
General Director of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin said that such a great number of orders testified that the scrappage scheme had been launched in time. "Surely, this program will be a success. A great number of support measures taken by the Government of the Russian Federation will help us start our own demand stimulation program to renew the Russian truck fleet and support domestic consumers in the dropping market," Sergey Kogogin concluded.
The first trucks will be delivered to clients under the scrappage scheme next week.
