Douglas joined Altron in 2006 as the Group Executive: Corporate Affairs and a year later he moved to an operations position as Managing Director of Bytes Specialised Solutions, now known as Bytes Managed Solutions. In 2010, he became the CEO of Bytes Healthcare Solutions which provides IT solutions mainly to the private healthcare sector.

Robbie Venter says, "Douglas has gained a lot of experience in both corporate and business operations. He has been in the group long enough to understand the needs of the businesses and will add great value to their corporate affairs functions. Douglas has also previously been group executive of corporate affairs at Absa and Anglo American corporate so he brings a wealth of experience in this area. We wish him well in his new role."

Douglas is a member of the Altron executive committee, Altron Risk Committee, Altron Social and Ethics Committee and will also join the board of directors of various subsidiaries within the group.
