OREANDA-NEWS. Specialists of E4-SibCOTES studied the efficiency of using foreign pre-owned gas turbine units (GTU) in Russia. Calculation results show that this approach is economically feasible and should be interesting for suppliers of thermal and power energy.

The issue was studied within the framework of TPP construction feasibility study for the needs of OJSC Bashkir Soda Company (OJSC BSC).

Specialists from E4-SibCOTES and OJSC BSC visited a number of power plants in Italy where they examined eight operating gas turbine power units.

"The obtained data allowed us to calculate the economic feasibility of pre-owned GTU operation at newly constructed thermal power plants. The results show that despite its service life the foreign plant equipment is compatible with absolutely new gas turbine units introduced in Russia today", said Roman Ermolaev, Chief Specialist of the Perspective Development Department, E4-SibCOTES.

TPP construction site was chosen on the basis of the technical and economic analysis. The main equipment optimal configuration and content were also determined.

The Customer emphasized a high qualification level of E4-SibCOTES specialists. At present OJSC BSC considers the possibility for further implementation of the power unit construction project.
