OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' sugar export proceeds reduced 20.4% year on year in January-July 2014 to USD 174.987 million, a source in the profile ministry told.

Belarus exported 266,800 tonnes of sugar in January-July 2014, down 20.4% year on year. Russia was a major destination for Belarus' sugar exports.

There are four sugar plants in Belarus (based Gorodeya, Zhabinka, Skidel, Slootsk), which process 28,000 tonnes of sugar beet a day. The sugar capacity of Belarus' home market totals 380,000 tonnes.
