OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for gas exploration in the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Menahi Al-Enezi said the company has worked to implement a range of future projects to raise the gas production capacity to about 3.5 billion cubic feet by 2030.

Al-Enezi said in an interview with the KOC's magazine, October edition, that about 2.5 billion cubic feet of that energy will be from non-associated gas, explaining that the company was able to increase production rates through its well-defined strategy in exploration and production. He stated that the depth of the geological layers to be explored is among the main obstacles faced by the company as such method needs special drilling platforms.

He pointed to the limited geophysical readings for layers that precede the Jurassic period, as the company is looking diligently for the provision of modern and non-traditional techniques for conducting initial tests of abysmal depths and treatment plants in order to reach the highest production rates possible while maintaining the productivity of the reservoir in the long run.
