OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2014. FAS Presidium approved the principles of economic analysis of pricing practices to verify compliance with the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The principles of economic analysis of pricing practices were devised to determine common approaches to analyzing pricing policies of dominant economic entities in order to verify whether their policies comply with Clauses 1 and 6 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The staff members of the Central Office and FAS regional Offices will use them as the guidelines.

“The principles approved by FAS Presidium form the basis for establishing a common approach to analyzing pricing policies of organization and will increase the quality of economic analysis of pricing policies of dominant economic entities. The organizations now have the methodology in the part of putting together evidence to be submitted to the antimonopoly authority that their pricing policies comply with the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition””, pointed out the Head of FAS Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex, Maxim Ovchinnikov.

Earlier the project was discussed by FAS Expert Councils for developing competition in metallurgy, at the IV International Legal Forum in St Petersburg, joint sessions of FAS and Non-Profit Partnership for Competition Support; it also underwent peer review at the Analytical Centre of the Government of the Russian Federation and was presented at the All-Russian Workshop for tax officers on price control for taxation purposes.
