VEGAS LEX Law Firm Speak at Series of Seminars
OREANDA-NEWS. On September 25-26, 2014, experts of the VEGAS LEX law firm spoke at a series of seminars organized by the LawTEK (PravoTEK) school.
Yuriy Tatarinov, senior associate at the VEGAS LEX Energy Projects Practice, spoke at the seminar on Technological Connection to Electric Grids: New Regulations, Methodology Guidelines, Anti-monopoly and Judicial Practices on September 25. His report was entitled “Improvement of technological connection procedure. Important changes. Conflict of law.”
Another VEGAS LEX expert, head of the Fuel and Energy Group Alexander Lavrentyev, joined him at the next seminar, Contractual Practice in Energy Supplies: Legal Counsel and Commercial Disputes, on September 26, to speak about contractual practices in the sphere of energy supplies to industrial facilities and about the specifics of power (capacity) supply contracts signed by default power suppliers or distributors. He described the procedure for considering technological connection applications and explained how technological connection agreements need to be drafted and what important clauses they need to include. He also discussed regulatory practices with regard to technological connection of new users to power grids.
The two experts considered several interesting judicial precedents - commercial disputes in the sphere of power supplies, leading their audience into a discussion of important aspects of the contractual practice in the industry.
The seminars were attended by lawyers and specialists from contractual claim settlement departments of various companies, representatives of energy divisions of industrial and mining companies, and of planning departments of power distributors and territorial grid operators.
