OREANDA-NEWS. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Executive Director of the US Turkmenistan Business Council Eric Stewart and founder of the Jack Nicklaus Design Company Jack Nicklaus, American professional golfer.

The Turkmen leader and Executive Director of the US Turkmenistan Business Council exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. The guest expressed the interest of the US business circles to deepen their positions at the high-promising Turkmen market, and underlined the willingness of leading American companies for cooperation in the most demanded spheres.

The President expressed belief that the positive experience of joint work accumulated within the last years would contribute to development and implementation of new projects in various areas. Among them are the trade and economic, fuel and energy, information technologies, communications and agricultural sectors.

Sport was also specified as a new area for partnership between Turkmenistan and the US. Jack Nicklaus underlined the personal contribution of the President of Turkmenistan, an ardent supporter and advocate of a healthy lifestyle to development of sports in the country that opened up wonderful opportunities for Turkmen sportsmen.

Highly appreciating the achievements of our country in the sphere of physical culture and sports that is vividly proved by numerous victories our sportsmen gained at large international tournaments, as well as modern sports complexes built in our country, the businessmen expressed the willingness of his company to provide support in developing such a popular sport like golf in Turkmenistan.

Commenting on the projects of golf fields presented by the founder of the Jack Nicklaus Design Company, the Turkmen leader provided a number of comments and recommendations in this regard. The guest assured the President of Turkmenistan that all his recommendations would be taken into account.
