Scania and GAZ Group Expand Cooperation in Production of Buses
OREANDA-NEWS. Swedish automaker Scania and "GAZ Group" within the International Exhibition of transport, organization of transport and logistics IAA (Hanover, Germany) signed a partnership agreement. Under the agreement, the companies plan to expand the cooperation in the production of buses and their promotion in the Russian and foreign markets.
"Our partnership, which began over a decade ago, developed successfully today. Proof of this is the implemented joint project this year as part of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, where it was delivered more than 700 buses of "GAZ Group", equipped with chassis Scania. Signed partnership agreement will allow us to reach a new level of interaction by using the existing expertise and capabilities of the two companies, "- said the senior vice president of buses and coaches of Scania CV AB, Clas Dalberg.
"This agreement opens up new possibilities for the development of the bus business of "GAZ Group": our companies combine their most advanced design and technology to provide consumers with safe and comfortable buses," - said General Director of "Russian Machines", Manfred Aybek.
The agreement was signed in the course of cooperation of "GAZ Group" with the company Scania, which started in 2005, when "GAZ Group" launched a tourist bus "Cruise" on the chassis of Scania. Since 2011, it was began the production of coaches series "Voyage" on Scania chassis. Then, in 2011, it was signed a tripartite agreement between the manufacturer and the Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014" on the transport services of the Olympics. In 2012, the production of buses "GAZ Group" is being tested at the sites of Scania in Sweden. Currently at the enterprises "GAZ Group" with an aggregate base Scania there are produced buses "Voyage", "Voyage L", "Cruise" and LiAZ-529230.
