KazTransOil, MMK and CPP Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. On September 30, 2014, General Director (Chair of the Management Board) of "KazTransOil" JSC Kairgeldy Kabyldin, General Director of "Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant" OJSC Pavel Shilyayev, General Director of "Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant" OJSC Vitaly Sadykov signed a Memorandum of Scientific and Technical Cooperation on the sidelines of Atyrau XI Forum of Cross-Border Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation with the participation of Heads of State on "Innovation in the Hydrocarbon Sector".
The parties expressed in this memorandum the mutual interest in finding prospective areas for activity in the global tubular market, swapping technical information and holding regular meetings in order to improve the quality of tubular goods.
"Within the framework of the trilateral cooperation, we will pay special attention to improving reliability and safety, as well as minimizing environmental damage during oil transportation. We intend to establish the scientific and technical cooperation involving specialized organizations and entities to this end," K. Kabyldin, the General Director (Chair of the Management Board) of "KazTransOil" JSC, noted.
"One of the main objectives of the memorandum is to develop common standards within the framework of the Customs Union and provide reliable and environmentally safe transportation of petroleum products. We are willing to share information and develop a trilateral scientific and technical cooperation in order to work together for finding new criteria for quality of pipe products, as well as meet the most stringent environmental requirements," General Director of MMP OJSC Pavel Shilyayev said.
"Kazakhstan is an important strategic partner of our company. CPP Group, which includes the oil service division represented by "Rimera" group of companies, supplies to Kazakhstan almost all manufactured assortment: pipes for fuel and energy complex, main equipment of MSA and SOT (the latter for joining branch pipes) plants, products of petroleum engineering from "Alnas" and "Izhneftemash" plants," General Director of "Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant" OJSC Vitaly Sadykov noted.
"KazTransOil" JSC is a national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the main pipeline. The company was founded on April 2, 1997 in order to meet the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan in transportation, export and import of oil and oil products under the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.461. The company manages a network of main oil pipelines stretching over 5,5 thousand km and water pipelines 2,1 thousand km long, and operates 37 oil pumping stations. The company's largest shareholder is "KazMunayGas" NC JSC (90% stake).
"KazTransOil" JSC is a participant/shareholder of such organizations as "Kazakhstan-China Pipeline" LLP (50%), "MunaiTas" NWPC JSC (51%), "Batumi Terminals Limited" (100%). The company transports over 57% of the total oil produced in Kazakhstan. In 2013, the consolidated volume of oil transportation stood at 67 million 220 thousand tons, the turnover - 45 billion 493 million t.km, the volume of water supply - 23 million 390 thousand cum. The consolidated income of "KazTransOil" JSC group of companies for 2013 amounted to 190 billion 22 million tenge, and the consolidated net income - 63 billion 544 million tenge.
