OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2014. Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev met with ICAO Secretary General Raymond Benjamin.

The head of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Raymond Benjamin, has visited Kazakhstan officially for the first time.

During a meeting with the Secretary General of ICAO Asset Issekeshev noted Kazakhstan's success in development of civil aviation. In general, the parties discussed plans for further cooperation.

According to A. Issekeshev, development of civil aviation is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Investment and Development. The Ministry, he said, is actively working to increase the level of safety and security, plans to increase the frequency and the number of flights within the country and in the international area, continues to work to improve the quality of passenger service. In this regard, the Minister highlighted the importance and effectiveness of two-year collaboration of the Ministry with the ICAO Technical Co-operation Bureau.

In turn, Raymond Benjamin said that Kazakhstan is succeeded in development of civil aviation in a short time. He also expressed interest in further cooperation with Kazakhstan, "as the republic is an example for the region."
